More than 150 athletes participated at the 35th annual Marshall County Special Olympics Track & Field event at John Marshall High School.

Athletes were assisted by peer tutors from both Marshall County high schools, Cameron and John Marshall, while competing in various track and field events including walking and running races along with shot put and softball throw. Participants could also make arts and crafts and take silly pictures in a photo booth. Everyone received a t-shirt.

Several JM Career & Technical Education programs helped at the Special Olympics competition. Local businesses and civic groups also helped make the event possible.

This years’ theme was camping.
