Baker’s Dozen Earns Perfect Score at Regional WV Social Studies Fair

Thirteen students from Marshall County Schools scored a 100% on their projects at the Northern Region West Virginia Social Studies Fair in Moundsville on Thursday.
Approximately 105 participants in third grade through twelfth grade, in three divisions, gathered at the John Marshall Field House from public schools in Brooke, Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel counties and Catholic schools in Ohio and Marshall counties to compete in two different divisions.
Sherrard Middle School students in Division II who received a 100% for their presentations include Abby Allman (Economics), Lauren McGraw (Political Science), Phoenix Wolverton (Psychology), Lily Goddard (Sociology), Kenzie Lyseski (State & Local Studies), Ella Allender and Addison Mlodzik (U.S. History- Group) and Gracelynn Welch (World History).
In addition to the young scholars who scored a 100%, all students who attained the highest score in their category will compete with regional winners from all over the state when they go head-to-head at the West Virginia State Social Studies Fair on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
